Gary Woods - Chairman of the Board
Gary R. Woods is a native Oklahoman and a graduate of Millwood High School. He graduated from Langston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Business Marketing. He had a 25 year career in the healthcare and biotech industry with Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson as an account manager, District Manager and Practice Management, Marketing and Reimbursement Consultant. During this tenure he has been awarded multiple National MVP, Leadership and Encore Awards. Gary is a long time coach and mentor to a number of youth in the NE community and he currently serves as the Ward 7 Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Commissioner. Gary and his wife Cecilia Robinson Woods are also small business owners, recently launching C&G Woods LLC, a real estate investment company with emphasis in executive housing. Gary and Cecilia live in northeast Oklahoma City and have 5 children.

Stephanie Price - Vice Chairwoman
Stephanie Price has over 20 years of experience in banking, real estate, child care, behavioral health, and telecommunication, She currently has certifications in Child Development, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Counseling, Health Care Administration, Advantage Case Management, and Nurse Aide, qualifications that allowed her to establish herself within the adult care industry.
Stephanie's awards and honors include Exemplary Woman in the Community 2013 by OKC Chapter of Chums. Outstanding Service Award 2013 by DRS Business Advisory Council, I am Love Award 2014 and Grand Heart Award 2015 by The Wonderfully Made Foundation, Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 by OKC Chapter Eta Phi Beta Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 by Women of Color, Outstanding Mother of the Year Honoree 2015 by Metro Family. She owes her inspiration to her six children: Victor, Nicholas, Aria, Alexandria (Boogie), Daniel and Alivia.

Cindy Van Kley - Secretary
Cindy Van Kley retired as the Public Relations Representative for Advantage Bank, where she was also the in-house graphic designer. In addition to serving on the Board of the Black Chamber of Commerce, she serves on the Spencer Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where she is the newsletter editor and a past president. She serves as Vice President of the Eastern Oklahoma County Tourism Council, and serves on the Community Advisory Panel of the EmPower Works program at Rose State College. Cindy is a member of the ABC Referrals Club at Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center, and serves on the board of directors of Mid-Del Art Guild, where she has been the newsletter editor for over 20 years. She and her husband, Neal, are members of the Spencer Historical Society and are volunteers supporting the maintenance of the Spencer Museum and grounds.
For over 40 years, she has been a Sunday School teacher for the Bahá’í Communities of Bethany, Oklahoma City, Spencer, and now at the Edmond Bahá’í Center, where she also is the children’s song leader. Cindy and Neal Van Kley are long-time residents of Spencer, with two grown children and 5 grandchildren.

Kelly Atkinson - Treasuer
Kelly Atkinson is a Dual Purpose Lender for Arvest Bank. He works with customers, providing consumer and mortgage loans. He’s been with Arvest for almost 4 years. He has a diverse financial services background, having worked in consumer/mortgage/commercial lending, audit, and retail branch management. Kelly also spent time in the securities business as a financial advisor/planner.

Monica Finley, is Vice-President of Merchandising for MTM Recognition Corporation. MTM is an engagement and recognition solutions provider for Fortune 500 corporations globally. She also oversees the product engagement development for MTM’s Consultants according to the client’s demographic. Monica has worked at Oklahoma City based MTM Recognition since 1995. Monica received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland and earned her Masters of Liberal Arts from Oklahoma City University. In addition to her leadership skills, Monica is community-minded, she is a 25-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and currently serves as a Board Member of the Black Chamber of Commerce Metro Oklahoma City.

Courtney Franklin
Community Relations Specialist for Love’s Travel Stops
Courtney Franklin serves as Community Relations Manager for Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores. In this role, she oversees charitable contributions for the company, fosters relationships with community leaders and organizations, manages corporate volunteer efforts and events and represents Love’s at public events, luncheons and forums. Courtney is on the Greater OKC Black Chamber of Commerce board and volunteers at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Life.Church. She’s been married to her husband, Darwin, for 19 years and enjoys spending time with her daughters Joslyn and Makala.

Wayland Cubit
F.A.C.T Unit - Oklahoma City Police Department
Lieutenant Wayland Cubit is an Oklahoma native. He is a husband, father, grandfather, career Law Enforcement Professional, motivational speaker, and mentor. Wayland began working with Oklahoma City Police Department in 1996 as a Patrol Officer. After years in patrol, Lt. Cubit moved from one specialty unit to the next, which afforded him the opportunity to become an undercover police officer, conducting undercover street crime and narcotic investigations. In 2010, his experience, reputation in the community and support from police administration inspired him to establish the OCPD F.A.C.T. Unit (Family Awareness and Community Teamwork), which is a youth outreach program that focuses on mentorship, building character and empowering at-risk youth.

Everett Steele

J.D. Baker
Special Assistant to the Mayor of Oklahoma City
J.D. Baker serves as a Special Assistant to Mayor Holt and is the liaison to the LGBTQ community for the Mayor’s Office. He is a fifth-generation Oklahoma City native who recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. During his time at OU, he was active in the university community and served as the student body president in 2017. He was recognized with the Glenn Snider Human Relations Award by the Oklahoma Education Association for his advocacy in mental health, disability concerns and LGTBQ issues. He also received the Clara Luper Department of African & African-American Studies Leadership Award. Along with his capacity in the Mayor’s office, J.D. serves as a trustee on the Lake Atoka Reservation Association and he is an active volunteer with the YMCA Youth In Government program

Michael Chapple

Mike Chapple is a native Oklahoman raised on the eastside of Oklahoma City. He has an impeccable work history with 31 years of results-oriented experience in Gaming. He has held Gaming Licenses for the states of Oklahoma, Florida and Texas and has served in the United States Army, been commissioned as a Law Enforcement officer and is a licensed ordained minister; serving and engaged on several Boards with a community focus.
He is the husband of Michelle and father of four: Mekale, Kyla, Michael Jr and Kaleb.

Camal Pennington
Director of Annual Giving at The University of Oklahoma

Prior to working for the College of Law, Camal was a congressional staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he focused on education, civil rights, and criminal justice reform. Following two years of work in Washington, D.C., he served as an attorney for the Oklahoma City American Federation of Teachers. Camal is a member of the Northeast OKC Healthy Community Collaborative, serves on the board of directors for NE OKC Renaissance Inc., and is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City’s LOYAL Class XII. As an OU Law student, Camal was a member of the Americans for Access to Justice mock trial team and was President of the Student Bar Association.

Dr. Monique Bruner
Professor and Director, Center for Success, Inclusion, and Diversity at Rose State College
Dr. Monique Miles Bruner has excelled in her education. She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Public Administration, a Masters in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Southwestern College. Monique has been teaching at the college level for over 20 years.
Mrs. Bruner has served Rose State College in several areas: academic advisement, tenured political science faculty member, associate dean and interim dean of social sciences division and currently, she is the Director of the Center for Success, Inclusion, and Diversity. Monique has received numerous awards and honors for her teaching and administration at the collegiate level.
Monique has dedicated endless amount of time and hard work to support the community. She is involved with several community organizations, specifically The Sharing Tree, The OKC Black Chamber, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She spends family time watching movies, putting together jigsaw puzzles, reading, and watching football with her husband BK Bruner, children (Angelique, Domonique, Shayla, and Isaiah) and mother, Wilma Miles.
